Sponsorship Frequently Asked QuestionsHow much sponsorship cost? Our sponsorships are $25 per month per child (or a one-off payment of $300) and last for one year. This cost covers all the materials a child needs to get into school and attend the Seeds of Hope sessions, including uniforms, books, equipment, food and any clothes if necessary. Do I have to sponsor a child for a whole year?We set up the sponsorships to last for one year so that the child has continuous level of support for a reasonable length of time. At some point during this period, they will need to enrol in the next school year and so will need all the necessary items that are covered within the sponsorship fee. How can I pay?You can pay by cheque, postal order or bank transfer. Before making a payment to the charity, contact us on +53 +43 396305 to discuss your sponsorship, your preferred child and to receive a reference number. Cheques and postal orders should be sent to the Seeds of Hope Head Office and bank transfers can be made to the following account: Telephone : +51 +43 421500 Huaraz Can I pay monthly? You can pay monthly through bank transfers, a monthly bank mandate or through Direct Debit. You will need to arrange this with your bank. Why can I not pay online?Seeds of Hope is registered in Peru and at the moment there are no companies that offer online payment to charities in Peru. We are currently looking for alternative routes and hope to have online payment in the future. What if the child I sponsor leaves the programme? We try and ensure the children stay in the programme, but unfortunately sometimes a child might drop out. If a sponsored child leaves the programme, we'll contact the sponsor. It is possible to transfer the sponsorship to another child, or receive a refund for the remainder of the sponsorship. Can I contact my sponsored child? It is possible to contact your sponsored child through Seeds of Hope. We welcome and encourage letters and photos of sponsors as it makes the sponsorship more real for the child. Can I buy my sponsored child presents?Any child loves presents, especially around Christmas or their birthday. If you'd like to buy your sponsored child a present, please send it to the Seeds of Hope address with your sponsorship number and we'll distribute it to your child. We do not allow the home addresses of the children to be distributed for security reasons. How often will my sponsored child write to me?All sponsored children write to their sponsors every three months. This will be a short, handwritten letter usually telling you what they child has been doing. The letters will be translated into English and sent via post with a photograph. Will Seeds of Hope keep me updated? The administration at Seeds of Hope will writes to sponsors once every six months to update them on the progress of the scheme. The teachers in the school also write a short report on each sponsored child for the sponsors. This will be included in this correspondence. This will be via email.
